A beautiful late fall evening spent with this family! They were so happy; laughing most of the session. I am happy with the photographs we captured for them. The kids were so happy to climb the hill and explore at the end of the session.
Family sessions are a favourite of mine, with a mix of documentary and portraits, photographing you as you are.
Fall is a colourful vibrant time of year, and this evening was warm and exceptionally perfect. This Mother & daughter were so sweet, and a joy to photograph. Their friendship and love for one another was tangible while we wandered the field and forest.

Read MoreSo, I was writing a blog post, just minutes ago, and as I went to add a photograph, I accidently deleted the whole blog post. I thought I was removing the photograph that I had selected, but instead deleted my well written post, that I had finally sat down to write. Isn’t that how life feels sometimes.
But, I will not let myself be to discouraged. Sometimes, the best stories, and maybe more interesting blog posts, stem from moments like that? So, here goes.
I was writing about how thankful I am for all my 2021 clients. I photographed many beautiful family sessions, creative portraits, and second shot several weddings. It was a privilege and blessing to be welcomed into your stories and document memories for you.
I remember the day that my Dad gave me my first film point and shoot camera, when I was maybe twelve or thirteen years old. I remember the first photographs I took with it; my cat and my younger siblings and their friends up our childhood street. Those photographs are etched into my memory, even if I hadn’t looked at them since. I feel like the act of taking a photograph helps preserve the moment more clearly in our memory; being intentional to really see and appreciate what is in front of us. Of course there is balance in that, as with everything. I am thankful that I have been able to photograph my family and my life.
As the end of October draws near, and November soon meets December, I hope to embrace these quieter days and spend time being creative through my personal photography. I am planning to photograph more self portraits and creative flat lays. I love how we can photograph the same person or items time and again, but we can always create a different outcome, and something new. There is always something new to create in any form of art.
I am hoping to be in this space more often from now on! I plan to share more about myself, this photography business, and share other interests and art forms with you as well.
